…Change.org is currently promoting a petition intended to publicly shame teachers, created by group “Stand for Children”. This does not mean the group jumped on change.org and created a petition, it means change.org took thousands of dollars from them to promote their petition.
“Stand for Children” pushes for privatization of schools, ending collective bargaining and lots and lots of high stakes testing.
Progressives on tumblr have taken to change.org to voice their support on a variety of issues. It’s time now to ask change.org to do the right thing.
I saw Ben Wikler of Change.org on a panel today. He acknowledged the organization is in the midst of a discussion about its promotion of Stand For Children’s content. This is a great time to sign this petition and let change.org know you do not support its choice!
