I thought all I wanted for Christmas was an L shaped eclair. However, this changed my mind.
Happy Emmy awards day. Before you get caught up in the ‘pomp and circumstance’ of television’s night out, take a moment to remember one thing - The Wire never received Emmy love. (The Wire which, ranked at 9.7 on imdb, is regarded as better than The West Wing, Mad Men and The Sopranos to name a few.) No nomination for best drama, no directing nominations, no casting, NO ACTORS WERE EVER NOMINATED. No love for the men that portrayed Bubbles, Omar, Stringer Bell, or Lester Freamon. No love for the kids that made season four incredible. In fact, the only two nominations the show ever received were for writing. One, of which, was lost to an episode of House. HOUSE!
Enjoy the show tonight kiddies, and take it with a grain of salt. (Especially if Modern Family beats Parks and Recreation!)
